Stepler offers two ways to compete: Open Leaderboards and Friendly Leaderboards. Both run for 7 days, track your steps, and reward your effort — but they work a little differently.

Open Leaderboards

Compete against other Steplers across the community. A new leaderboard starts every week.

How it works

• Group Matching: You’re placed in a group with people who have a similar average step count.
• Duration: Day 1 at 00:00 CET → Last day at 23:59 CET
• Rewards:
  • 🥇 1st place: 30 points
  • 🥈 2nd place: 15 points
  • 🥉 3rd place: 7 points
• Extra bonuses: Some leaderboards may include special raffles with additional rewards.
• Join anytime: You can join or leave whenever you want.

Friendly Leaderboards

Create your own 7-day leaderboard and compete with friends, family, or colleagues.

How it works

• Duration: 7 days (Day 1 at 00:00 CET → Day 7 at 23:59 CET)
• Rewards based on group size:
  • Fewer than 4 members → ❌ No points
  • 4+ members → 🥇 30 points
  • 5+ members → 🥇 30 pts, 🥈 15 pts
  • 7+ members → 🥇 30 pts, 🥈 15 pts, 🥉 7 pts
• Visibility: Your name and step count are visible to everyone in the leaderboard.
• Late joining: Joining after the start may reduce your counted steps.
• Syncing: Open Stepler daily to ensure steps are up to date.
• Claim rewards: Points can be claimed from the dashboard or the leaderboard once it ends.

FAQ

How do leaderboard dates work?

All leaderboards run for 7 days. Only steps recorded between the start date (00:00) and the end date (23:59) count. Time zones don’t matter — steps within this window are included.

How often are leaderboards refreshed?

Leaderboards update frequently but not instantly. A short delay may cause your dashboard and leaderboard totals to differ. Final rankings are calculated once the leaderboard closes.

Is there a participant limit?

Yes. Each leaderboard can have up to 50 members.

How many leaderboards can I participate in at once?

You can have up to 3 active leaderboards simultaneously.

When can I start a Friendly Leaderboard?

You can choose a start date from tomorrow up to 7 days ahead.

How do I claim my points?

Points can be claimed from:

• the dashboard, or
• the leaderboard result screen.

How often should I open the app to sync steps?

Open Stepler daily. If steps don’t sync for more than 10 minutes, something may need attention.

Why do I see 0 steps when joining?

This is normal. Leaderboards update periodically, and your steps will appear during the next refresh.
